AniTrace
Privacy policy

Your sketches stay yours.

This is AniTrace’s privacy policy, written as the questions people actually ask us. Short answer first, details after.

AniTrace: AR Anime SketchBy CONTRUCTION AND INVESTMENT JSCEffective: October 2026

“We” means CONTRUCTION AND INVESTMENT JSC, the company behind AniTrace: AR Anime Sketch (“AniTrace”). “You” means you, the person using it.

01Photos, camera & drawings

Do you upload my photos or drawings?

No. Photos you pick from your gallery, photos you take in the app and the drawings you save all stay on your phone. Turning a photo into a sketch and laying it over the camera view both happen on the device. None of it is sent to us.

What does AniTrace do with my camera?

It shows you the paper. While you trace, the camera shows a live view with the sketch on top so you can follow the lines. That live view isn’t recorded or sent anywhere. A photo is taken only when you tap the shutter, to trace something you just snapped or to keep a picture of your finished drawing.

Can AniTrace see all my photos?

Only so you can pick one. AniTrace shows your images in its picker so you can choose what to trace. It doesn’t scan, analyse or upload your library. On Android 14 and later you can allow access to selected photos only.

Where do my drawings go?

Your phone. Saved drawings go to the Pictures/AniTrace folder and show up in My Art. The list of templates you used recently is kept in the app’s own storage on your phone.

What happens when I share a drawing?

It goes where you send it. Sharing opens Android’s share sheet, and the image goes only to the app you choose. That app’s own privacy policy applies from there.

03Permissions

Why does AniTrace ask for these permissions?

Each one unlocks one feature. Say no to any of them and only that feature stops working; the rest of the app carries on. Here’s the full list and why each exists.

  • CAMERAShow the live camera view you trace on, and take a photo when you tap the shutter.
  • FLASHLIGHTTurn on your phone’s light when it’s too dark to see the paper.
  • READ_MEDIA_IMAGESAndroid 13 and later. Show your images in the picker so you can choose one to trace or turn into a sketch.
  • READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTEDAndroid 14 and later. Lets you give AniTrace only the photos you select instead of your whole library.
  • READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGEAndroid 12 and older only. Show your images in the picker, as above.
  • WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGEAndroid 9 and older only. Save your drawings to Pictures/AniTrace.
  • POST_NOTIFICATIONSSend you notifications, such as new drawing ideas and app news.
  • INTERNETLoad templates and web search results, fetch remote settings, send crash reports and analytics, measure installs, deliver notifications and show ads.
  • ACCESS_NETWORK_STATECheck you’re online before loading templates or search results, and tell you when you’re not.

Google Play lists permissions that aren’t here. Why?

They come from libraries, not from AniTrace. The analytics, attribution, ads and messaging libraries inside the app add a few on their own, such as advertising ID, wake lock, install referrer and receiving push messages.

Does AniTrace use my microphone, location or contacts?

No. AniTrace doesn’t record audio or video, doesn’t ask for your location, and can’t read your contacts, calls or phone number.

04Ads, analytics & partners

Who else gets data from the app?

A handful of partners that keep AniTrace running. Each may collect limited data under its own privacy policy:

  • Google Play Services
  • Google Analytics for Firebase — usage analytics: screens and features used, search terms, device model, OS version, an app-instance ID and an approximate region worked out from the IP address.
  • Firebase Crashlytics — crash reports.
  • Firebase Performance Monitoring — how fast the app starts, draws screens and finishes downloads.
  • Firebase Remote Config and Cloud Messaging — app settings we can adjust without an update, and push notifications.
  • Adjust — install attribution, meaning which ad or campaign led to your install; receives the advertising ID, IP address, device details and install referrer.
  • AdMob — shows and measures ads; may receive device identifiers such as the advertising ID.
  • Mintegral, Meta SDK (Facebook), Pangle, Unity Ads / AppLovin — ad networks and mediation.

Do any of them get my photos or drawings?

No. Your photos, your camera view and your drawings never go to these partners.

What device information do you collect?

Identifiers like the advertising ID and Android ID. We use them for analytics, install attribution, security and fraud prevention: keeping sessions unique and catching suspicious activity. We don’t sell personally identifiable information or hand it to advertisers, and we treat it according to applicable privacy laws.

What happens when the app crashes?

Diagnostics may be sent so we can fix it. Third-party tools can record things like IP address, device name, OS version, the app’s settings at the time, date and time, and other technical stats.

Does AniTrace use cookies?

Not itself. The in-app Google search browser and partner libraries may use cookies or similar tech for their services. You can accept or refuse them in your device or app settings, though refusing may limit some features.

Do you use other contractors?

Sometimes. We may bring in companies or people to help run, deliver or analyse the service. They only get personal information to do that job and may not share it or use it for anything else.

05Staying in control

How do I switch things off?

  • A permission: turn off camera, photos or notifications in device settings. Only that feature stops.
  • Personalised ads: use your device’s Ads settings to opt out, or reset or delete your advertising ID.

How do I delete my data?

  • Drawings: remove them in My Art, or delete them from Pictures/AniTrace in your gallery.
  • Everything else: apart from support emails you send us, AniTrace’s data lives on your phone. Clear the app’s storage in system settings or uninstall it.

Does uninstalling delete my saved drawings?

No, and that’s on purpose. Drawings saved to Pictures/AniTrace are your own files in your phone’s shared storage, so they stay after you uninstall. Delete them from your gallery if you want them gone.

Can I find out what you have about me?

Yes. Email us and we’ll explain what we collect and how it’s processed, and correct it if needed.

Is it safe?

We work at it. We use commercially reasonable technical and organisational safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, though, so be careful with sensitive information.

06The fine print

Is AniTrace for kids?

No. It isn’t aimed at children under 13 and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you’re a parent or guardian and think your child gave us information, or we learn we collected it without parental consent, we’ll delete it.

I live in California. Do you sell my data?

No. We don’t sell personal information for commercial purposes. Some ad and analytics partners use technology that could count as a “sale” under the CCPA. To opt out of that and of interest-based ads, turn off ads personalization in your device settings.

Does AniTrace honour “Do Not Track”?

There’s nothing to honour. AniTrace doesn’t track you across other websites. Third-party sites or SDKs may follow their own rules, which you can limit in your browser or device settings.

Will this policy change?

Possibly. We’ll post the new version here with a new date and, where it makes sense, let you know in the app.

Who do I talk to?

Us, directly. Email constructionninvestment.jsc@gmail.com with any question or data request.

By installing or using AniTrace you confirm you’ve read and accept this policy and our Terms of Use. If you don’t, please don’t use the app.
